During the first hour we watched «The Farmer», and after we discussed the meaning of the story.
After the short clip we got our exams back. We repeated the questions, and our teacher explained to us the grammar mistakes we made.
What is the vending machine?
Our English theme was the vending machine. The vending machine is an automated machine that provides snacks, alcohol, umbrellas, cigarettes and other things. The first machines were developed in England in the early 1880s and dispensed postcards. Vending machines exist in many countries, and in more recent times, specialized vending machines that provide less common products compared to traditional vending machine items have been produced and provided to consumers.
Draw your own machine
The task was to draw our own vending machine in groups of two. We got a lot of inspiration from the video, and the results were very funny. There were good suggestions, and I think it would be cool if we also had some machines like these in our city.
We also had a look at the FCE exam (http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams/first/), and our teacher explained to us what we have to do in this test. It's about reading, listening, talking and writing. After the test we'll get a certificate.
The simple present, present simple or present indefinite is one of the verb forms associated with the present tense (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Present_tense) in modern English. It is commonly referred to as a tense, although it also encodes certain information about aspect in addition to present time.
It is called «simple» because its basic form consists of a single word (like write or writes), in contrast with other present tense forms such as the present progressive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Present_continuous) (is writing) and present perfect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Present_perfect) (has written).
