Exam Time

Let me start by thanking Lisa, Mara and Colin for their blog entries. You've done a wonderful job ;-) I'm looking forward to the other entries :-) After an intensive preparation, the students took their first exam. As promised, we concluded the lesson with another round of «Trivia Murder Party».

I giorni intensivi

A refaire!

During the first part of the course, Nino had to introduce himself. Then we did a little speaking exercise before we corrected the homework. After that we learned the second part of the comma rules. After a short break, we continued with the rules before taking a quiz. It was funny! Now comes the humorous part! We played two games with Daniel’s iPad: - The first game was called «Irregular Verbs». We had to choose the correct form of the verbs. - The second one was called «Four Letters». There were four letters, and we had to form a word with these four letters. It was hilarious!

At the beginning of the lesson, Daniel gave us our homework for the next week. Then we had a challenge: Everyone had to describe themselves with one adjective for one minute. We learned how long a minute can be. After the speaking part, we talked about the comma rules. Daniel explained how to use them. He also explained the past simple before giving us some exercises. At the end of the lesson, we played the game «Trivia Murder Party». This game we played with our mobile phones. We had to answer some questions to stay alive. If an answer was incorrect, our little monsters in the game died. We had a lot of fun. I like the lessons with Daniel because we learn a lot. He tells some jokes too.

During the first hour we watched «The Farmer», and after we discussed the meaning of the story. After the short clip we got our exams back. We repeated the questions, and our teacher explained to us the grammar mistakes we made. What is the vending machine? Our English theme was the vending machine. The vending machine is an automated machine that provides snacks, alcohol, umbrellas, cigarettes and other things. The first machines were developed in England in the early 1880s and dispensed postcards. Vending machines exist in many countries, and in more recent times, specialized vending machines that provide less common products compared to traditional vending machine items have been produced
